John Holliday, a Detroit-area native and member of the Nottawaseppi
Huron Band of Potawatomi, studied industrial management at Lawrence
Technological University in Southfield, Michigan.
John has always had a desire to be in sales, and began his career very early in life by
participating in Junior Achievement during high school. After completing his studies at
Lawrence Technological University, John's sales career gained momentum working for General Tire and Rubber Company,
Clairol's appliance division and Teledyne Waterpik.
John's strong desire to have his own business, enticed him to start a manufacturing
representative organization. The lack of success in his first enterprise did not
deter him from starting American Heritage Group years later.
Getting a new enterprise off the ground can be a struggle, but persistence
paid off with his new endeavor. His advice for those seeking to do the same is to
"align yourself with your cultural heritage ... and find a mentor"
He attributes the success of American Heritage Group to finding the balance
between the business and spiritual sides of business relationships.
